The San Diego Convention Center earned the Global Biorisk Advisory Council's® GBAC STAR facility accreditation and implement BIOPROTECT by SurfaceGuard, a NASA developed technology. GBAC STAR is an outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation. The program establishes requirements to assist facilities with work practices, protocols, procedures, and systems to control risks associated with infectious agents, such as SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19.

*Significant changes are:

  • The meeting will end on Monday therefore removing Tuesday entirely.
  • Relocating the traditional Friday Networking Reception to inside the exhibit hall on Friday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
  • Scheduling the most popular and important sessions after exhibits close on Monday.
  • One corporate delegate badge per each 10' x 10' booth purchased (allows full access to sessions, but cannot claim CE credit; not to exceed 10 per company).
  • An allotment of complimentary ‘Exhibit Hall’ booth personnel badges (allows access into the Exhibit Hall only).
  • Attendee “Preview” list will be deployed once in May and again two weeks prior to the meeting which will include attendee names and countries of origin to help you better staff your booths with the appropriate literature and/or multi-lingual staff. This list does not include contact information and is expressly for planning purposes only.
  • Exhibitor listing will appear in the Final Program (digital) and Mobile App. Product descriptions will be included in the mobile app.
  • Standard flameproof booth equipment: pipe and drape back wall (8' high) and draped side rails (33" high).
  • 7" x 44" identification sign with company name and booth number (for linear booths only).
  • Aisle carpeting provided and cleaned daily. Booth carpet is required for all exhibits and may be ordered from the vendor.
  • Priority points toward selection of exhibit space for the 84th Scientific Sessions.
  • Access to the Exhibitor Resource Center.
  • Ability to purchase pre- and post-show attendee list.

A 50% deposit is due when you submit your online application if submitted on or before March 1, 2023. On or after March 2, 2023, 100% is due with your application.

Exhibitor Business Meeting Suites

Secure a private meeting suite located in the Poster Hall. This new location allows you to access your suites earlier and later than when they were located in the exhibit hall. Posters typically open approximately two and a half hours prior to exhibits and close approximately an hour after exhibits.

Business Meeting Suites are your opportunity to host discussions about your products, hold small staff meetings, meet privately with potential clients, conduct investigator meetings, or host small hospitality events in the convention center. They include:

  • 8’ high hard walls
  • Keyed or Combination doors
  • Carpet
  • One (1) 24” x 24” ID sign with name OR logo

Prices: $7,500 per 15’x15’

Exhibitor EXTENDED HOURS Business Meeting Suites

For additional convenience, Extended Hours Business Meeting Suites are available outside the exhibit hall with access from Thursday at noon to Monday at 6:30 p.m. They include:

  • 8’ high hard walls
  • Keyed or Combination doors
  • Carpet (if area is not already carpeted)
  • One (1) 24” x 24” ID sign with name OR logo

Prices: $9,500 per 15’x15’

Educational symposia, sessions, or group demonstrations are NOT permitted inside the meeting suites. All guests must be registered attendees of the 83rd Scientific Sessions.

Product Theaters

Product Theaters are a terrific opportunity for exhibiting companies to increase interaction with professional attendees while highlighting new products and treatment options through promotional presentations. Located in the Exhibit Hall, there are (3) Product Theater locations. AM/PM Product Theaters will be 45 minutes in length and Lunch Product Theaters will be one hour in length; all will be assigned based on Right of First Refusal and then on a first-come, first-served basis.

Product Theater includes:

  • Audiovisual package.
  • Stage and podium.
  • Two (2) stools (No Head Table).
  • Seating for 300. Seating may be changed based on current social distancing guidelines with additional space for standing.
  • Two (2) Easels outside of Product Theater for Signage.
  • Two (2) Lead retrieval units (Sponsor to supply staff to scan badges).
  • Food and beverage will be provided within the Product Theater area, selections made by the American Diabetes Association®.
    • AM/PM presentations include light refreshments.
    • Lunch presentations include box lunches and beverages.
  • View only copy of 83rd Scientific Sessions attendee list.

Expanded engagement opportunities have been created to increase attendee interaction and ROI, including pre- and post-conference e-blasts, additional advertising options, audience response systems, and more. Diabetes Learning Bytes

The Diabetes Learning Bytes areas on the Exhibit Floor are an opportunity for you to highlight your newest innovations in an informal setting with a 20-minute presentation window (that includes Q&A). The Area will include seating for up to 20 people with standing room available for the most popular topics.

Once your date and time is confirmed you will be asked for a title, brief description (500 words or less), presenter’s name, your organization name, website, brief biography, and minimal slides (if necessary) that will be reviewed and approved by ADA.
